#16 Chants of a Lifetime - Krishna Das
Krishna Das is a Grammy-nominated new age musician who specializes in the Hindu devotional music known as kirtan. Krishna began as a rock musician, playing in a small east coast band that eventually would become Blue Oyster Cult. He began his spiritual journey in the 60s learning from Ram Dass and Maharaj-ji. Today he follows and promotes the teachings of Maharaj-ji and connects to his spirituality through chanting. He is internationally revered, and travels the world performing for and chanting with his audiences. In this episode he shares stories of his years spent with Ram Dass and Maharaj-ji, including the time he introduced his guru to LSD. He and Richard also discuss compassion, inner freedom, sound and the soundless, and the differences between chanting and mindfulness.
